A graduate of Stanford University, Jeff Li began his second career as an educator in 2003 after spending five years at the Boston Consulting Group. As the son of immigrants who never felt fully American, he has spent his career in education working in low-income communities across New York City to help empower students who have traditionally been marginalized in American society. He has been recognized as an American Star of Teaching by the U.S. Department of Education for the academic gains of his students and teaches 8th grade mathematics at KIPP Infinity Middle School in Harlem. Jeff is currently in the process of opening co-founding KIPP’s first intentionally integrated school, in New York City, slated to open in 2020.
He earned his MA in Childhood Education from the Bank Street College of Education and lives in Manhattan with his wife (a physician), and their baby daughter.
