K.M. DiColandrea

K.M. DiColandrea (DiCo) is a New York native who spent four years competing on Stuyvesant High School’s Speech & Debate team before studying Philosophy at Yale. A Teach for America alum, he has been teaching in New York City for 12 years and has launched two Speech & Debate programs, including the one at Frederick Douglass Academy and Achievement First Brooklyn High School. The Achievement First team has grown to include over 60 students who compete at about 30 tournaments a year and who study in a daily elective course. In 2018, the New York Daily News named him a Hometown Hero for his work supporting his students, who have experienced success at Speech & Debate tournaments on the local and national circuit.
